Boasting an exorbitant construction cost, the parking garages alone are estimated to be more than $50.6 million, while the office buildings and retail spaces are following closely behind – with respective price tags of over $39 million and nearly $17.4 million. A new six-story shared-use parking garage, dubbed Building D Garage, is spotlighted with an estimated cost of $13,646,000 and over 181,220 square feet, suggesting a notable expansion, according to the recent filings to the state. In a plan to transform the local infrastructure, Hunt Realty is working in tandem with Karahan Companies, known for their involvement in notable developments such as Legacy West and Shops at Legacy.
This large-scale project, Fields West, operates under a private funding arrangement, paving the way for the construction of 1,200 residences, 375 hotel rooms, and an impressive 675,000 square feet of commercial space. Fields is notably home to the PGA's new headquarters and the planned Universal Kids Resort, indicating a marked inflow of both residential and tourism potential. Residents and visitors can anticipate seven Marriott hotels, extensive parkland, and miles of trails to bolster the area's appeal, as was detailed in a report by The Dallas Express.
Meanwhile, FW Development LLC holds the reins as the owner of the Fields West development, with construction and design being undertaken by Gensler, a firm with a commanding presence in architectural services. The Fields West Building D Garage, earmarked to have six stories, has been registered with project number TABS2024011716, as revealed by state records. With a start date of July 1, 2024, and a swift completion date set for June 30, 2026, Frisco residents will likely witness a significant transformation in their local landscape over the next couple of years, as indicated by the information disclosed on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website.
This robust development trend contrasts sharply with Dallas where, according to The Dallas Express, construction has lagged due to periodic permitting backlogs and other inefficiencies within the city's Development Services Department. Frisco's latest move further positions it as a rising star in the metroplex region, pushing ahead with ambitious projects that aim to offer a mix of upscale housing, corporate and leisure spaces, and luxury hotels.
