Three young men are now facing the consequences after a spree of violence and drug offenses in Gilbert, Arizona. According to AZFamily.com, on Thursday, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell disclosed the indictments involving 19-year-olds Kyler Renner and Gage Garrison, as well as 18-year-old Cody Kostoryz. Their alleged crimes have added more layers to a string of incidents shaking the East Valley community.

Kostoryz and Garrison are reportedly each charged with one count of aggravated assault, stemming from a brutal altercation at a party on December 17, 2022, near Higley and Elliot roads. Having taken the suspects into custody earlier this month, Gilbert police are still pursuing charges and seeking the arrest warrant for an out-of-state 18-year-old associate, Nolan Russell.

Renner, separated from the assault case, stands accused of drug charges coming from a traffic stop on March 29, 2023. His litany of charges includes possession and intent to sell narcotics and dangerous drugs, as well as using electronic communication for drug transactions, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

Additional details emerged during a media briefing by Gilbert Police Chief Michael Soelberg, who referenced an unrelated assault and robbery case. The police submitted charges against a second person, connected to an incident occurring last September in a parking lot at Market Street and Williams Field Road. Alongside a 20-year-old Jacob Pennington apprehended earlier this week, a 17-year-old also faces charges of aggravated robbery, assault, and disorderly conduct.

The recent indictments are not linked to the ultimate fate of 16-year-old Preston Lord, who was lost to the community under tragic circumstances. His passing inaugurated a cascade of investigations with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office noting 27 open cases, encompassing 52 counts against 19 individuals, both adults and minors alike. As the legal process unwinds, the Attorney's Office is yet to determine whether additional charges will be filed.
