
An Arizona family dispute took a violent turn when a man was arrested for allegedly shooting his father in Glendale, as reported by local authorities.
The incident occurred near the intersection of 45th Avenue and Northern, with Glendale Police being called to the scene after a 6:37 p.m. report of a family fight on Wednesday. Upon their arrival, officers found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, the police statement detailed according to FOX 10 Phoenix.
The shooter, identified as the victim's adult son, remained at the scene and was detained by police. The identity of neither the suspect nor the victim has been released to the public.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting but confirmed that the violent altercation was between father and son. "The dispute was between an adult son who shot his father during an argument," said the police in a statement obtained by 12 News. Further details about the argument, or what may have led to the shooting, have not been disclosed as the situation is still under review by law enforcement.
