A woman has been detained and charged after an incident involving the assault of a young girl in Harris County, authorities said. Kenia Orellano was arrested following a disturbance call deputies responded to on February 4, according to Constable Mark Herman's Office.
The trouble began when officials arrived at the 4100 block of Swinden Drive. Upon their intervention, Orellano, was taken into custody and an investigation immediately followed. During the course of the inquiries, officers established that Orellano assaulted, a juvenile female, causing her to sustain minor injuries.
"Kenia Orellano was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Injury to a Child," stated Constable Mark Herman on Facebook. The information, released in a post on the precinct's official Facebook page also mentioned that Orellano's bond has been set at $10,000.00 and was issued out of the 184th District Court.
Details surrounding the circumstances that led to the confrontation between Orellano and the juvenile are sparse, and the identity of the child has not been disclosed due to her age. A judicial process is expected to proceed, with Orellano's charge casting her into the gears of the legal system, where she'll contest the allegation of Injury to a Child.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as authorities work to piece together the events that unfolded at Swinden Drive earlier this month. For further updates and information visit Constable Mark Herman's Facebook Page.
