Houston police are pouring over the puzzling circumstances surrounding the discovery of a decomposed body on Fuqua Street yesterday afternoon. The dead person, whose identity still remains unknown, was found at 7600 Fuqua Street around 2:35 p.m., and detectives are biting into the case to unravel the mystery.
According to a City of Houston news release, the gender and cause of death of the person are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. This leaves an undercurrent of suspense and potential concern in the local community about what may have transpired at that address.
HPD Homicide Division’s very own Detectives C. Vaughn and A Herrera are on the trail, having responded initially to the report that brought the deceased to light. Despite the initial observation revealing no obvious signs of trauma, the police are not taking any chances and are holding their cards close to their chest until the autopsy can paint a clearer picture of the person's final moments.
Investigators are not disclosing details but are asking the public for any information that could help solve the case. "Anyone with information should contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600," police stated. The investigation depends on autopsy results to determine foul play or a natural cause of death.
