Houston Firefighters Save $2.16 Million Property Value in Blaze at Spring Branch Office Complex

Last week, an office complex in Spring Branch Central caught fire due to an equipment failure or an errant heat source. According to a report published on February 19th, the blaze erupted at approximately 9:06 p.m. on February 15th at 1200 Blalock Rd.

The Houston Fire Department reported that no injuries were sustained in the inferno that did an estimated $12,000 in damage. Yet, due to the prompt response of the firefighting crews, property valued at roughly $2.16 million was saved from devastation. Firefighters were able to arrive on the scene within five minutes, encountering heavy smoke and flames raging from the rooftop of the structure.

Witnesses watched as first responders tackled the emergency, ensuring everyone inside the office complex had been evacuated to safety. According to the official release, firefighters discovered that the complex was composed of two buildings and that the second one had caught fire on the roof.

Altogether, 37 fire department personnel from Stations 2, 5, 28, 38, 49, 57, 60, 77, and the Village Fire Department were involved in the response. Their collective effort ensured that the fire remained contained with no further extensions into other parts of the buildings.
