The Woodlands Township is closing out summer with its annual Labor Day Festival on Sunday, September 6, running from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Waterway Square. The free event opens with a live concert from variety group Shake Down Band HTX and builds toward a fireworks finale over the water, giving Town Center residents one more outdoor gathering before the holiday weekend ends.

Lankford's Burgers Steps In As Contest Sponsor

This year's pie-eating contests carry a new local sponsor: Houston-based Lankford's Burgers, which opened its Waterway location at 24 Waterway Avenue in early 2026 in the former Baja Cantina space, as reported by PaperCity Magazine. The sponsorship ties the festival's contest tradition to the ongoing growth of dining options along the Waterway corridor.

The evening builds to a fireworks display scheduled for approximately 8:55 p.m., weather permitting, capping off the night over the water.
