A reckless driving spree in the Houston area has come to an end with the arrest of a suspect who allegedly left a path of destruction in his wake. Houston's own Constable Mark Herman's office announced that on January 29, deputies rushed to the 14200 block of Bateau Drive after reports of a driver damaging property, including striking mailboxes, vehicles, and a light pole, before he sped from the scene.
The driver, identified as Richard Orsak, was found and detained at his residence, shortly after deputies arrived at the scene. According to a witness, multiple signs of intoxication were displayed by Orsak, who allegedly caused the chaotic scene.
Charged with Failure to Stop and Give Information, Orsak's skirmish with the law landed him behind bars. "Ricard Orsak was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Failure to stop and Give information. His total bond was set at $200.00 out of County Court 3.," detailed Constable Mark Herman in a report about the incident.
Law enforcement authorities have not released further details about the damage caused or if there were any injuries incurred during the incident. In a reckless event culminating in Orsak's arrest, the community breathes a sigh of relief as the Constable's Office brings some closure to those affected by the hit and run.
