A man has been slapped with murder and assault charges over a deadly shooting that claimed a life and left another man injured in Houston last December. Roberto Madrigal, 30, remains at large, facing charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as filed in the 180th State District Court, according to a news release from the City of Houston.
Law enforcement responded to a call at a business establishment on Lee Road on the night of December 27, where they found two men gunned down by an unknown assailant, with panic gripping the scene as first responders hurried to provide medical aid, shortly after which both victims were rushed to a hospital, the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division Detective J. Brown noted. The tragedy saw Jahmar Sampson, 33, lose his life, being pronounced dead by doctors on January 3, and a second victim, 32, survived the ordeal, now expected to recover from his injuries.
