Houston's roads witnessed a bizarre scene earlier this week when a deputy from Constable Mark Herman's Office spotted a vehicle riding precariously on three tires. The incident occurred on the evening of Monday, February 5, as the car was seen missing its back right tire, trundling along the 18300 block of June Forest Dr., drawing the attention of law enforcement.
The observant deputy took action and pulled over the car, confronting the driver, Marco Altamirano Vasquez. According to the deputy, Vasquez exhibited several signs that all was not well; his behavior suggested intoxication. A routine traffic stop swiftly escalated as it became apparent that Vasquez was in no condition to safely operate the vehicle—or even undergo standard sobriety testing.
In a move to ensure public safety and follow protocol, the deputy secured a warrant for a blood specimen to confirm the suspected intoxication. According to Constable Mark Herman on Facebook, "Marco Altamirano Velazquez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated." The gravity of the situation was underscored by the swift judicial response. Vasquez's bond was set, reflecting the severity of driving laws and the risk posed to the community. Setting the bail at $100.00 out of County Court 12, the system signaled its intolerance for such reckless behavior on the roads.
