A man died in a single-car crash after his vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a parked truck in Houston earlier today.
The 39-year-old driver, whose identity has not been disclosed pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was behind the wheel of a black Ford Edge heading north on Dorsett Street around 7:20 a.m. Sunday when he inexplicably lost control of the car swerving from his lane before crashing into the stationary trailer, according to a statement from the Houston Police Department's Vehicular Crimes Division.
Sergeant A. Patterson and Officer M. Keita reported that no other vehicles or individuals were implicated in the collision.
Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene near 1900 Dorsett Street where the man was pronounced dead, as reported by the City of Houston. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the cause of the tragic accident continues as the community awaits answers.
