
Tragedy struck a Houston neighborhood in the early hours of Sunday when an unidentified 36-year-old man was gunned down in his home. The fatal incident occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. at 5350 Castlecreek Drive, as reported by City of Houston News. The man's identity remains unknown, pending an examination by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Responding to a shooting, HPD patrol officers discovered two open side doors at the residence. Upon their arrival, a distraught woman, reportedly the victim’s wife, emerged from the house. She informed officers that her two children were still asleep inside. According to the official statement, she claimed that three unidentified male suspects had forced entry and fatally shot her husband.
The HPD Homicide Division, overseen by Sergeant R. Montalvo and Detective D. Higgs, is spearheading the investigation. The victim was located in the hallway, suffering from at least a single gunshot wound. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department were called to the scene, declaring the man dead on arrival.
Currently, there is a belief among authorities that the deceased was the intended target of this attack. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and investigators continue to gather evidence.
