After nearly three months on the run, a man wanted for a double shooting in Houston has been nabbed by the cops. Quendarious Emerson, 26, was arrested Wednesday for a violent encounter that left a man and a woman wounded on Cavalcade Street back in November, according to authorities.
The shooting unfolded in the early hours, around 1:55 a.m., when Emerson allegedly opened fire, striking the victims, a 33-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, whose names have been withheld. Found by Houston Police Department patrol officers, they had been shot at the 3400 block of Cavalcade Street, as reported by the City of Houston news release.
The Houston Fire Department paramedics swiftly got the victims to a nearby hospital, where they were listed as expected to survive. Charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Emerson's role in the shooting was established during an initial probe that led officers directly to his doorstep, police said.
Emerson was charged on December 19, but it was not until February 7 that additional investigation turned up his location. Upon his arrest, he was lodged into the Harris County Jail without causing any trouble, suggesting a quiet end to a search that started with gunfire and terror. "HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives V. Gamez and P. Ungaro reported," noted the City of Houston in their news release regarding the findings of the investigation and arrest.
