Houston police are currently piecing together the moments that led to a deadly shooting early Sunday morning, leaving one man dead and another injured at a Fondren Road address. In a predawn tragedy that ended with a vehicle crashing and two men riddled with bullets, the cops arrived on-scene around 3:25 a.m. to discover the victims in a grim tableau of urban violence. The identity of the deceased, a man in his 20s, is yet to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, while the second victim, also believed to be in his 20s, is now recovering in hospital in stable condition.
According to a statement by the Houston Police Department, detectives from the HPD Homicide Division, identified as D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov, are following up on the scant leads available. The initial clues suggest that the shooter or shooters may have been cruising in a newer model, a white Dodge Charger. The assailants, as yet unidentified, remain at large, with the motive for the shooting murky at best.
The Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced one man dead at the scene.
