The shooting, which rang out near Whale's Seafood restaurant, left a 15-year-old boy with a chest wound and a 13-year-old girl injured in the arm, Fox26 Houston reported. The altercation reportedly stemmed from an argument between two groups of teenagers that escalated, drawing adults into the fray.
Following the incident on Wednesday just after 5 p.m., authorities hurried to the scene and discovered both teens had been struck by the same bullet, which was confirmed by a statement on the official Houston Police X account. The boy is in critical condition by nightfall, while the girl's prognosis at the time remains stable.

The Houston Police Department has acknowledged that the shooting was captured on the restaurant's surveillance footage and confirmed that they have identified the suspect—a man in his 30s. However, no arrest had been made yet at the time of their report. "We would like for him to come forward and provide his side of the story," Houston Police Assistant Chief Megan Howard stated, signaling the complexities and the many narratives that often surround violent incidents like this one.
Community activist Johnnie Binder, having relatives caught during the altercation, expressed his disbelief to Fox26 Houston about the circumstances under which an adult would fire upon teenagers, "You can see him coming in and when the women went to fighting he ran into the crowd," Binder described perplexed at the actions that led to a confrontation where children fall victim to bullets intended or not, for them; the suspect's motivations remain unclear.
