Houston-area deputies snapped into action Friday night when they discovered a woman, seemingly drunk, snoozing in her car — which was dangerously parked on a busy road. The incident, which could have ended in tragedy, occurred in the 23700 block of Hardy Toll Road.
The unresponsive motorist, identified as Jazmyne Caldwell, was found asleep at the wheel by deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office. After being roused by the officers, the woman displayed signs of impairment. A series of field sobriety tests confirmed their suspicions: Caldwell was under the influence, according to Herman's Facebook post.
With the evidence at hand, the decision was clear. "Jazmyne Caldwell was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated," Herman's statement read. Her bail was modestly set at $100.00 out of County Court 12. While the legal process is just beginning for Caldwell, the arrest likely prevented a potential accident on an evening where anything could have happened.
