In a harrowing turn of events, an individual took a leap from the Fore River Bridge into the chilly waters of the Fore River Channel yesterday. Quincy Police were swamped by 911 calls at precisely 3:44 p.m., with witnesses reporting the incident. The distressing scene unfolded in Massachusetts where the Quincy Police Marine Unit was quick to respond.
The responder's efforts culminated in the discovery of the person, near the bridge's fender system. Upon recovery, the victim was provided immediate medical attention aboard the Quincy Police vessel, Guardian. Amidst freezing conditions — the water was a biting 38 degrees — the individual's survival hung in limbo, as the Quincy Police reported.
Swiftly transitioning the individual to mainland, the Quincy Police boat transferred the victim to Brewster EMS, which was on standby near a dock at Twin Rivers Technologies. The address, 780 Washington Street in Quincy, became a temporary harbor of hope as the victim was readied for further care.
