Help is on the way for Irvine's furry friends in need. The Irvine Animal Care Center is kicking off its annual Foster Donation Drive, starting March 1 and running through the end of the month. This year, the center is looking to the community to donate much-needed supplies to support a range of animals, from the newest litter of puppies and kittens to animals that need extra care post-surgery or while recovering from injuries. Residents can pitch in by sending items such as Breeder’s Edge formula, Mother & Babycat food, and Miracle Nipple syringes directly to the center through their Amazon or Chewy wish lists.
According to the center's announcement, contributors can also show their support by attending the Foster Donation Celebration. This event will be held on Saturday, March 9 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Animal Care Center. Not only will participants get the chance to learn about the Foster Care program, but they'll also walk away with an Irvine Animal Care Center Supporter sticker, a token of appreciation for their donations.
For those eager to dig a little deeper and get personally involved, the center's Foster Care program offers a noble opportunity. Volunteers provide a temporary home for our four-legged friends who are either too young for adoption, with behavior needs or are on the mend from medical treatments. In exchange, the program covers the basics: home environment, supplies, veterinary care, and especially, food. Interested parties willing to join the foster family can gather more information at the Irvine Animal Care Center website.
The center, located at 6443 Oak Canyon, isn't just about providing shelter; it's about nurturing a sense of community responsibility towards animal welfare. Whether it's through donations or becoming part of the Foster Care program, the residents of Irvine have a chance to contribute to the well-being and eventual adoption of these animals in need. For more information on how to participate or contribute, those interested are encouraged to visit the center's website or call 949-724-7740.
