Jersey Village is upping its game with a new multi-million-dollar clubhouse, and they're enlisting the help of locals to name the place's soon-to-be hotspot restaurant. The city officials have championed the residents' involvement in the Jersey Meadow Golf Club's latest addition, which is shaping up to be more than just a grub spot for golfers. "While we await the grand opening in several months, we’re looking for ideas on what to name the restaurant. Visit jerseyvillagetx.com to submit your ideas,” Mayor Bobby Warren told Houston Chronicle. This collaborative approach has already yielded over 275 potential names for the culinary joint as of last Friday.

Bobby Warren has overseen the project since its inception, elaborating on the significant expansion. The eventful groundbreaking took place last summer, kicking off the $8.72 million overhaul that promises to include a new bar, grill, pro shop, office spaces, and event accommodations. Despite the pandemic throwing in a wrench, the project, initially deliberated in 2017, has pushed forward. "It's going to be not just a resource for our golfers who are out here constantly, ... but it's also going to be a really great resource for the entire community," Warren remarked in a Community Impact interview. The new clubhouse is slated to become a cornerstone for both Jersey Village residents and visitors from the greater Houston area.

In partnership with Jersey Village, Little Kitchen HTX, run by local culinary duo Jason and Becca Kerr, has claimed the spot as the clubhouse's official concessionaire. The Kerrs bring a taste of Americana with their twist on breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings. Known for their existing restaurant in Jersey Village, alongside a popular food truck, the team is committed to creating a unique menu for the golf club's new eatery. Jason Kerr shared, "Luckily, we have a team of people, especially my wife who's incredible at organizing and catering and staffing events." The restaurant aims to blend the casual vibe of a sports bar with the sophistication of an upscale steakhouse.

City Manager Austin Blees expresses excitement about the venture, which opens its doors to the public this spring, followed by a grand opening in the summer. Jersey Village residents and the Houston crowd alike can anticipate a transformed dining experience where "you couldn’t get a full meal" before, Blees said in an interview with the Houston Chronicle. With its indoor and outdoor dining accommodating up to 150 guests, the club's restaurant is set to become a staple for social gatherings and fine dining in Jersey Village.
