The search is on for a heartless suspect in Kendall County, who fatally shot two horses at the end of January – a vile act that has left local residents in shock and sorrow.
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has put out a call for information related to the senseless killing of the two equine victims, as they have taken to social media to implore the public's assistance. According to the office, on January 30, the beloved horses named April and Rita were gunned down from beyond the confines of their pasture, located on the 100 block of Giles Ranch Road B in Comfort, Texas.
Described as a cold-blooded shooting, April suffered a shot to the neck that shattered her spine while Rita endured a fatal shot in the chest, causing them both to succumb rapidly to their grievous wounds. The loss has undoubtedly cast a dark pall over the tight-knit rural community, where such incidents are rare and startling.
Authorities are determined to bring the perpetrator to justice, urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward. KENS 5 reports that Investigator Chad Sells is handling any leads.
