A wild car chase on Cypresswood Drive led to the arrest of three suspects, including a known felon, after law enforcement conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle, authorities said.
On the evening of February 7, deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office attempted to pull over the suspect's vehicle, but the attempt spiraled into a chase, according to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman's Precinct. The driver, with no intentions to stop, ended up crashing into a parked car. Howard Richardson, the man behind the wheel, and two teen passengers decided to flee on foot but didn't get far.
With the help of air support and the K9 unit, including Constable Canine Rambo Tom Ramsey, the runaways were swiftly located and apprehended. Richardson, who has a history with the law and is on probation for robbery, found himself back in the hands of the police, along with his two underage accomplices.
"Howard Richardson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle. His bond has not been set at this time out of the 248th District Court," Constable Mark Herman reported. The juveniles, with a string of priors including evasion and aggravated robbery, were taken to the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center, facing serious charges themselves.
One of the teens notably heightened the stakes when he was discovered armed and made repeated threats to shoot deputies during the pursuit. This encounter underscores ongoing concerns about juvenile crime and the circulation of firearms among young offenders in the community.
