A fire in La Jolla erupted in the early hours of Tuesday, significantly damaging an apartment building on Carla Way. According to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, the blaze, which broke out approximately at 4:15 a.m., quickly engulfed a second-floor unit of the structure and spread damage worth an estimated $650,000.

Firefighting units, including four engines and two trucks, arrived at the scene minutes after receiving the alert. With the cause of the fire under investigation, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department has reported that structural damages are estimated at around $500,000. In addition, personal content destroyed in the fire is believed to be approximately $150,000 worth. A fire investigator has now been tasked with unraveling the origins of this costly blaze.
