Last night, firefighters battled a blaze that erupted in a posh Beverly Crest neighborhood. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported a structure fire at a large two-story home with smoke showing at 9779 W Oak Pass Rd. The emergency call was logged at 8:25 PM under incident number INC#1660, according to LAFD the alert.
The fire which consumed portions of the residence was met by firefighters operating in offensive mode. The LAFD deployed multiple engine companies and tactical units, including Battalion Chiefs and rescue ambulances, detailed in the report by spokesperson Nicholas Prange. The house, however, was later referred to as a "three-story" home in a subsequent LAFD update.
After a challenging encounter with the flames, the LAFD managed to knock down the fire in approximately 52 minutes. The knockdown was reported at 9:17 PM. Firefighters aggressively advanced hose lines up the stairs to access the fire floor, successfully extinguishing the fire, with the efforts detailed by Prange.
No injuries were reported in the incident, as to firefighters or occupants. The cause of the fire at the Beverly Crest residence remains under investigation. The upscale area, known for its luxurious homes and notable residents, awaited further information on what may have sparked the evening's dramatic turn of events.
