The LaGrange Police Department is on the hunt for a man accused of a disturbing sexual assault, authorities said. The suspect, identified as Laronald Christopher Scott, faces multiple allegations after a female victim reported being sexually assaulted early Saturday morning. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident took place shortly before 1:30 a.m. on Feb. 17, in the city of LaGrange.
After the victim came forward, the case quickly escalated to the Criminal Investigation Division's Special Victims Unit. Scott now faces criminal charges consisting of Aggravated Sodomy (FVA), False Imprisonment (FVA), Sexual Battery, and Criminal Trespass (FVA). He is also cited as a Fugitive from Justice. Arrest warrants have been issued, but as of yet, the suspect remains at large.
Efforts to apprehend Scott are ongoing, with LaGrange Police actively seeking assistance from the public. "Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this incident to contact the LaGrange Police Department," stated a report by WSB-TV. That same report also included an appeal for information which can be reported anonymously to Troup County Crime Stoppers – with the possibility of a cash reward for valuable leads.
