The Lakeville Fire Department's quick response included Engine 2, Tanker 1, and Car 2, all which were dispatched to tackle the unexpected fire.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department's Facebook post, the driver noticed the car malfunctioning and immediately saw flames after stepping out, a stroke of fortune allowed everyone aboard – alongside a dog – to escape unharmed before the fire could claim any victims. However, the rescue operation was not without its hitches, as the muddy terrain proved a formidable adversary, briefly swallowing Engine 2 in its clutches and hampering the firefighters' valiant efforts against the blazing car. Despite the challenges, the Lakeville firefighters managed to quell the flames, preventing further damage or injury.
