Livingston ISD Establishes Memorial Scholarship to Honor Late Audrii CunninghamSource: Facebook/Livingston Independent School District

In a gesture to honor the memory of the late Audrii Cunningham, Livingston ISD has announced the establishment of a scholarship fund in her name. Audrii, the 11-year-old girl whose recent disappearance set off an AMBER Alert, was found deceased five days later. To keep her love for education alive, the district is aiming to help another student to proudly continue their academic journey.

The Audrii Cunningham Memorial Scholarship will be a part of Livingston ISD's Green & White Scholarship Ceremony, scheduled for May 7, as stated by Superintendent Dr. Brent Hawkins in an announcement made Thursday. It will be open to members of the Livingston ISD Class of 2024, who have submitted applications for the Green & White Scholarship, according to a report from KHOU.

For those who wish to contribute to the scholarship fund, donations can be mailed to Green & White Scholarship Fund-Audrii Cunningham, PO Box 1297, Livingston, TX 77351. Inquiries for further information about the scholarship or donation directions can be directed to Lea Davis at 936-328-2100 or via email at [email protected].

Amidst the preparations to celebrate Audrii's legacy through education, the community is also preparing to say their final farewells. A public visitation will be held on March 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church at 106 Colt Road, Livingston. Following a private rosary service beginning at 10:30 a.m. on March 2, a private funeral is to immediately take place. "Audrii loved school, so what better way to honor her memory than to help a student further their education," Hawkins said, in a statement provided to KLTV.

Audrii's body was tragically recovered from the Trinity River on Tuesday after a near six-day search, shaking the community to its core. In the wake of these events, a family friend, Don Steven McDougal, has been charged in connection with the young girl's untimely death.
