Malibu Showcases Local Young Talent in 2024 Student Art Exhibition at City GallerySource: Malibu CIty

Malibu's up-and-coming artists are getting their time in the spotlight, and the community is invited to take a gander at the city's latest public art showcase. Malibu Arts Commission is rolling out the red carpet for its 2024 Student Art Exhibition at the Malibu City Gallery. According to a recent announcement by the city, the exhibit will feature an array of original pieces in various media crafted by the local student artists from grades TK through 12.

The show kicked off on Monday, February 5, giving folks ample opportunity to drop by the gallery, which is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM during the weekdays, until it wraps up on Friday, March 8. "The City’s annual Student Art Exhibition enriches the cultural life of our community and creates an important opportunity for artistic expression and creativity for Malibu’s young artists," Mayor Steve Uhring proclaimed in an official statement. He also threw in some kudos for the Malibu Arts Commission for consistently curating engaging exhibitions, according to the City of Malibu.

If you're all about meeting the young Picassos behind the artwork, save the date for the closing reception on Sunday, March 10. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, visitors can enjoy light refreshments, mingle with the artists, and witness the participants receive City certificates in recognition of their work. This end-of-show event is also free to the public, removing any financial barrier to supporting these young creatives.

No reservations are needed to check out the exhibition or the reception. It's as simple as showing up and soaking in the creativity these kids have poured into their projects. For anyone who wants the full scoop on the event, including any potential last-minute updates, as per  City of Malibu
