A disturbance at a North Houston sports bar led to the arrest of a local man, who police claim was resisting officers during the investigation. Constable Mark Herman's deputies responded to the incident at Bombshells on the Tomball Parkway on February 17, 2024.
Upon arrival, the situation escalated, and the man initially causing the disturbance, named Marcus Perez, became combative. During the attempt to detain him, Perez reportedly began kicking and pushing the officers. In an attempt to gain control of the situation, a deputy deployed his department-issued taser, effectively ending the struggle with Perez, as detailed in a Facebook post by Precinct 4.
Perez was subsequently arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest. As official sources reported, he was taken to the Harris County Jail, although detailed court information and bond settings remained unavailable at the time the event was publicized. Constable Mark Herman clarified the arrest, stating, "Marcus Perez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Resisting Arrest."
Herman emphasized the outcome in a short statement following the arrest obtained by social media, which read: "His bond and court information have not been set at this time." The incident adds to the ongoing conversations about the use of force and protocols during arrests in situations involving disturbances at local businesses.
