A fatal shooting in a Centennial neighborhood bar last Friday has ended with one man dead, the Portland Police Bureau reported. The incident occurred at a bar on the 17200 block of Southeast Division Street.
According to a statement by the Portland Police, the East Precinct and Focused Intervention Team officers were dispatched, arriving on the scene at approximately 8:05 p.m. to find an injured man within the bar's somber confines. Upon discovery, officers administered trauma first aid until emergency medical services arrived to take over, ushering in advanced care, but the injuries proved severe.
The Portland Police informed that the individual assumed to be involved in the shooting stayed on the scene to cooperate with the officers. Detectives from the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) spearheaded the initial investigation, which was later escalated to the Homicide Unit after the man succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
While the precise details of the altercation remain under wraps, the authorities have made it clear that no suspects are currently being pursued in this case.
