A dispute at a southeast Atlanta gas station escalated into gunfire, leaving one man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds early yesterday morning.
Authorities were called to the Shell Gas Station on Hill Street SE at about 1:18 a.m. following the incident. According to Channel 2 Action News, the officers quickly arrived, to only discover a man who had suffered several gunshots. He was then rushed to the hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The identity of the victim has yet to be released as the investigation proceeds. It appears that the victim had an argument with an unknown individual which quickly to took a violent turn, with the suspect firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the shooter remains at large.
Separately, as 11Alive reported, the altercation occurred in Atlanta's Capital Gateway neighborhood and that the injured man was shot twice. Following the shooting, he was transported to Grady Hospital where his condition has been confirmed to be stable. Details on the suspect have yet to be disclosed by police.
The Atlanta Police Department continues to investigate the shooting. They are urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward to aid in the capture and prosecution of the responsible party.
