
An East Aldine house fire on Sunday night has tragically resulted in the death of several dogs and left a man hospitalized, as per firefighter reports. The blaze, which engulfed a home on Orange Grove Drive near Gloger Street, was battled by the Westfield Road Volunteer Fire Department after receiving calls from witnesses who noticed heavy smoke and flames.
The first responders conducted a hurried search of the house, where they discovered a man. Firefighters removed him from the inferno and administered CPR at the scene until a medic team assumed care, as noted by officials in a statement obtained by the Houston Chronicle. The identity of the man and the extent of his injuries have not been released, and his current condition remains unknown after being taken to a local hospital.
In addition to the human casualty, several pets were found lifeless inside the flame-ravaged home, likely victims of smoke inhalation, stated authorities. The news of the deceased animals was also reported by ABC13, adding a somber note to the tragic event.
Investigators are now probing into the cause of the fire, Meanwhile, nearly 30 miles away in Deer Park, another fire wreaked havoc overnight, claiming the lives of two more pets and severely injuring a child, ABC13 reported.
