Two suspects are actively being hunted after a brazen vehicle theft in Elmhurst, Illinois, that has now come to involve multiple law enforcement agencies. According to CBS Chicago, authorities are searching for two white males, believed to be around 30 years old, after a semi-truck and an accomplice vehicle were flagged as stolen and intercepted by the police.
The pursuit of these suspects initiated when the Elmhurst Police Department, aided by the Illinois State Police, managed to stop to quickly investigate the purported stolen semi-truck and an associated sedan. As officers approached, three suspects fled the scene, with law enforcement quickly apprehending only one. The remaining individuals are now fugitives, last seen in South Barrington, Illinois. Residents have been strongly cautioned to report any suspicious behavior—especially near Covered Bridge and Barrington Roads, as well as Liberty Drive and Bartlett Roads—to the authorities immediately.
As per the description relayed by the police and covered by Fox 32 Chicago, one suspect was last noted for wearing a tan or light-colored sweatshirt paired with light pants, while his counterpart was spotted in a gray hooded sweatshirt.
