The political rift between Meghan McCain and Kari Lake intensified this week, following Lake's backpedaling claims that her anti-McCain rhetoric was all in jest. In a Wednesday interview with KTAR News 92.3 FM, Meghan unleashed her take on Lake's campaign strategy. "My entire take on this situation is just that the internal polling for Kari Lake’s campaign must be just staggeringly awful and scary to them when it comes to Independents and McCain Republicans not voting for her," she said to Bruce and Gaydos.
McCain went on to describe a "giant swath of Arizonans" who would never cast their vote for Kari Lake due to her past attacks against her father, John McCain, an icon in Arizona. This commentary ensues after tempting Lake on X with a fiery post calling the candidate "repulsive," implying that an eight-hour standoff on the platform ensued.
Kari Lake is trying to walk back her continued attacks on my Dad (& family) and all of his loyal supporters after telling them to “get the hell out”. Guess she realized she can’t become a Senator without us.

No peace, bitch. We see you for who you are - and are repulsed by it.
The verbal duel began when Meghan labeled Lake's ongoing attacks against her family as repugnant. Kari Lake's repartee was a 225-word letter on X, appealing for peace within the GOP, which McCain promptly dismissed with a sharp "No peace," enhancing it with an expletive.
Chronicling a history of contempt, Lake had previously incited crowds with remarks like "We don’t have any McCain Republicans in here, do we? Get the hell out!" The disdain continued through her 2022 run for governor, where she infamously referred to John McCain as a "loser," and simulated driving a stake through the heart of the "McCain machine" at the Conservative Political Action Conference summit.
In further response to Lake's claim of her comments being humorous, McCain retorted with professional insight, "Now she’s trying to say it was a joke? I used to work at Saturday Night Live. I know what a joke is," She unveiled to KTAR. She labeled Lake as "delusional" and "pathetic," and snubbed the notion that Lake's non-apologetic letter on X could mend political fences. Meghan concluded, "To not understand that a person is going to defend their family ... it’s just delusional. It’s just delusional."
