Miami residents can look forward to a weekend of mixed weather, with clear skies on the horizon but caution advised as a system from the Gulf of Mexico ushers in potentially severe weather by Sunday.
The National Weather Service forecasts a sunny outlook for Friday with temperatures hitting highs near 76 degrees Fahrenheit. Winds are expected to shift from the north in the morning to the south by the afternoon, ensuring a mild, breezy day for the Sunshine State metropolis. However, Saturday night might see some cloud cover with lows around 65 degrees.
Transitioning into the weekend, Saturday is slated to maintain the sunny disposition, but according to the NBC Miami report, Sunday's weather narrative takes a turn. With a system moving in from the Gulf, Miami is "in what the Storm Prediction Center calls a 'marginal risk' for severe weather," which hints at the possibility of isolated severe storms punctuating the rainy weather.
For those heading outdoors, caution is urged as Sunday's downpours bring a 90% chance of showers, and thunderstorms are also possible after 1pm, with wind gusts potentially reaching 31 mph. The presence of such impactful weather conditions also raises concerns of isolated flooding in some areas. Following the storms, Monday offers a respite but still carries a 50 percent chance of precipitation before transitioning to a cooler, drier pattern starting Tuesday.
The rest of the week is expected to return to more temperate weather, simulating the calm after the storm. With morning temperatures hovering in the 50s and afternoon highs in the 70s, Miami will dry out and settle into a pattern of mostly sunny skies and lighter winds, providing residents with relief from the tempestuous weekend.
