In a disturbing incident edging on real-life horror, a man has been taken into custody for a violent outbreak at a Miami Gardens assisted living facility. Nathaniel Donelle Martin, 44, is facing severe allegations following an assertion that he opened fire at a woman believed to owe him money, according to Miami-Dade Police.
The confrontation, which occurred on December 1, 2023, spiraled into chaos at the facility located at the intersection of Northwest 193rd Street and 37th Avenue. An eyewitness told police that when informed of the woman's absence, Martin became enraged, threatening to, "come back for his money," as per the Local10 report.
Authorities noted that Martin returned to the scene later that same day, venting his outrage by yelling profanities through the woman's bedroom window concerning the purported debt. This escalated to Martin discharging multiple rounds through the window, as the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, narrated her harrowing experience to the police. In what must have been moments of sheer terror, she managed to take cover and run toward a communal area where other residents were assembled. As reported by Youlianers online, the perpetrator then proceeded to shatter the victim's bedroom window before hastily evacuating the premises.
In a subsequent police line-up, the victim, and her roommate unequivocally pinpointed Martin as the assailant. Martin's capture ensued on a Sunday, culminating in his arrest on several counts, including attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, making written threats to kill, and criminal mischief. At present, Martin remains at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center where, he is being held without bond.
