Georgia traffic stops have led to the arrests of multiple individuals on drug charges, with a Michigan man wanted on multiple felony warrants among those nabbed. On the evening of February 14, Crisp County deputies halted a black BMW driven by Milo Yarborough, 48, of Royal Oak, Michigan, CBS News Detroit reports. The stop occurred on GA 401/I-75 and was initiated after the vehicle matched the description of a reckless driver and was seen failing to maintain its lane.

Upon checking Yarborough’s license, authorities discovered he was wanted on felony warrants in Maryland and Minnesota, during the interaction, the suspect made conflicting statements about his residence and the vehicle's state of registration when he told deputies that his vehicle's registration was in the trunk, deputies smelled marijuana upon opening it and found four bags containing a white substance, pills, and what was suspected to be marijuana, according to WALB News.

The substance found in the vehicle tested positive for fentanyl, and Yarborough now faces charges including trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, and possession of marijuana, as per information from Crisp County Sheriff's Office obtained by 13WMAZ. In a separate incident that occurred a few hours later in the same region, two men from Albany were also arrested for drug and gun charges after deputies pulled over a silver Dodge Charger and detected the smell of marijuana which ultimately led to the discovery of marijuana, cocaine and other controlled substances.

Moreover, the subsequent search resulted in the confiscation of drugs and firearms, with 25-year-old Kevin Moore and 26-year-old Terrance Davis facing various charges related to drug possession and distribution, and firearm offenses, “after searching the car, deputies found two bags they believed contained marijuana along with a bag containing 'a white substance' and another bag with white pills,” the Crisp County Sheriff's Office detailed in a release shared by 13WMAZ. The arrests highlight an ongoing challenge in addressing interstate drug trafficking and enforcing legal stipulations on controlled substances.
