Minnetonka is gearing up to give residents a deep-dive into the city's health (figurative) with its annual State of the City event. According to the city's recent announcement, The Marsh wellness and fitness center is the chosen venue for this year's community update, happening on Friday, March 15. To kick things off, a 11:30 a.m. reception will showcase eats from local favorites, promising a taste of the town before the main event.
Mayor Brad Wiersum is set to lead the proceedings, starting at noon. He's looking to showcase the strides taken by The Marsh since its acquisition by the city. "It’s been nearly a year since the city acquired The Marsh, and in that time, we have seen membership and services grow along with the addition of a café," Wiersum told the city's news section. A video tour to highlight major city achievements will also be part of the program, offering a look at the municipal milestones while safely being seated in the audience.
The event not only seeks to celebrate local successes but also to involve a wider array of Minnetonka's diverse business landscape. Wiersum promises to shine a light on a mix of players, from global corporations to fresh-faced tech start-ups and longstanding family-owned enterprises. "Minnetonka is home to some of the world’s largest companies, new technology startups, and family-owned businesses that were here long before the city," he explained.
Residents and interested folks won't have to worry about missing out. The city has decided to also livestream the affair for those who can’t make it in person. Tune in to the city’s YouTube channel to view the event from the comfort of wherever. And for those seeking to physically attend, the State of the City is free and open to all comers.
