New Braunfels Grants Celebrations Bridal and Prom $5,000 for Downtown Revitalization EffortsSource: City of New Braunfels Official Website

Wedding bells are in store for Celebrations Bridal and Prom, not just for the blushing brides-to-be, but also thanks to New Braunfels City Council's recent nod. The council has paved the way for the business's facelift by awarding it a $5,000 Downtown Business Improvement & Preservation Grant. This financial boost is part of the city's charm offensive to spruce up the downtown area, using funds from the Downtown Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ #3).

Business and property owners within the TIRZ #3 boundary can get a piece of the action and apply for these grants all year round, aimed at encouraging exterior renovations and public infrastructure improvements. Eligible projects can get back up to 25% of their costs covered. Celebrations Bridal and Prom's facelift involves a new roof, fascia boards, and a shiny sign, set to kick off in March, with reimbursement coming once the dust settles on the renovations.

"With this first selection for the grant program we are hopeful that more downtown property owners will be inspired to begin projects to preserve and improve their buildings and add other enhancements," Economic and Community Development Director Jeff Jewell was quoted as saying. According to New Braunsfel's official website.

For those owners waiting to pull the trigger on building improvements, time is money, and the city's latest move is about lighting that fire. The TIRZ #3 Board was unanimous in their support of Celebrations’ upcoming enhancements during their February 12 meeting.
