New Hampshire authorities have released an updated age-progression photo of Maura Murray, who vanished under enigmatic circumstances on February 9, 2004.

The new image, crafted by the FBI to illustrate what Murray may look like today, comes on the 20th anniversary of her disappearance and aims to drum up leads that could give some resolution to her family, on this day the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit is actively seeking information from the public, WHDH reported.

Murray was a 21-year-old nursing student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst when she went missing after her car was seen involved in a single-vehicle accident on New Hampshire's Route 112; she was observed shortly after the crash by a passerby, but was gone by the time police arrived on the scene, her whereabouts since remain a bewildering void, with not a trace or whisper surfacing despite numerous searches and public appeals.

“It is our hope that this twentieth anniversary of Ms. Murray’s disappearance will bring renewed attention to the case that might ultimately lead to justice and closure for the Murray family,” said Attorney General John Formella in a statement without any new evidence to suggest a ch,ange in the investigative direction, the New Hampshire Bulletin revealed.

Before attending UMass Amherst, Murray studied at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, she was known to be an avid runner and had a fondness for hiking in the White Mountains of New Hampshire; her case has garnered attention over the years, with both law enforcement and private citizens dedicating countless hours to combing the area where she last was seen to no avail.
