The nature of the lewd act has not been described in further detail, but such charges typically involve behavior that is considered indecent or obscene in a public setting. Open & Gross Lewdness is a serious charge in Massachusetts and can carry significant penalties, including fines and imprisonment.
While the TPD has not released further information about the individual in custody or the specific circumstances surrounding the incident, community members are reminded of the department's call to "See something, Say something."
