The prolonged quest for justice in the untimely demise of 16-year-old Preston Lord has prompted his parents to request public forbearance, as prosecutors diligently review potential criminal charges. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office has not yet determined indictments regarding the seven individuals connected to Lord's death following a Halloween party in Queen Creek. "The loss of our son is impossible to bear, and we understand that there is work to be done to achieve justice for Preston. We are exercising patience to ensure the best possible outcome and ask members of the community and the media to do the same," a statement from Lord's parents relayed through their legal representatives said, according to 12News.

Recently, the Queen Creek Police Department referred charges against the aforementioned suspects to the County's Attorney's Office. Months after the fatal incident, which sparked widespread community grief and walks for justice, there remains an overwhelming need for public cooperation in the ongoing investigation. "While charges have been submitted for review, the investigation continues and the public is encouraged to submit any new tips," Queen Creek Police Chief Randy Brice explained, in a statement obtained by 12News.

Meanwhile, county Attorney Rachel Mitchell, is expected to give an update during her biweekly press conference, which may provide further insights into the steps being taken towards resolution and justice.
