Philadelphia's historic Grande Dame of event halls, the iconic Ballroom at the Bellevue Hotel, is getting a face-lift and a new operator. Cescaphe, a company known for rejuvenating the city's landmarks into premium wedding venues, is set to take over the space, with renovations aiming to preserve its French Renaissance splendor, as stated in a report from Philadelphia Wedding magazine. The update comes as part of a larger redevelopment effort by real estate investor Lubert-Adler, which is also transforming the former PECO plant into a modern mixed-use facility dubbed the Battery.

Joe Volpe, Cescaphe co-founder and CEO, underscored the intent behind the renovation. "The Bellevue has been a staple of excellence for renowned Philadelphia celebrations," he said. "We are honored to revitalize The Grand Belle and reclaim its original prestige," NBC Philadelphia reports.

The reborn "Grand Belle" as the space is now christened, spans over 11,000 square feet and can host up to 500 guests. Apart from the grandiosity of the Grand Ballroom, which has catered to upscale events for more than a century, the venue promises a war chest of lavish offerings. From top-shelf open bars and three-course seated dinners to personalized four-tier cakes, a bridal suite, and even custom-designed ice sculptures, according to NBC Philadelphia. With the first wedding slated for April, the Grand Belle stands ready to embrace a new era of celebration while tipping its hat to the grandeur of yesteryear. Philadelphia Wedding magazine notes the use of 200 designer linen choices and custom menus as part of the upscale experience, ensuring the venue's continued status as a pinnacle of Philadelphia's social scene.
