Plymouth is ramping up for a day of community engagement with its upcoming Discover Plymouth event. On March 23rd, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can dive into the very fabric of their city. Held at the Plymouth Community Center Fieldhouse dome, located at 14800 34th Ave. N, the gathering promises an assortment of activities. According to officials, entry is on the house—talking free admission to explore exhibits from local businesses, community groups, and city departments. The City of Plymouth stated on its website that this event is a chance for folks to get acquainted with the people running their city and dig into volunteer opportunities, while kids can go wild with crafts and inflatables.
With homemade wares and goods for purchase, an indoor marketplace will cater to those looking to support local vendors. As a bonus, wandering into the Plymouth Community Center parking lot, kids, with painted faces from stands they just visited, have the chance to climb and explore a stack of hefty vehicles. This touch-a-truck experience, brought in by the Public Works Department, Parks & Forestry Division, and Public Safety Department, provides an up-close look at the machinery that keeps the city humming.

The marquee event within Discover Plymouth is the annual State of the City address, slated to start at 10 a.m. Mayor Jeff Wosje will take the spotlight to review the past year in Plymouth. According to the city's announcement, he'll cover city finances, public safety, infrastructure, and more. The address aims to offer transparency and a chance for citizens to catch up on completed projects and plans. Wosje's presentation will culminate in a public Q&A session led by Dave Kiser of CCX Media.
Following the address, Plymouth's constituents will have a golden opportunity; from 11 a.m. to noon, they can engage with Mayor Wosje and other City Council members during a City Council Meet and Greet. This direct access gives residents a chance to voice concerns or get to know their representatives away from the podium.
