A deadly collision in the Parkrose Heights Neighborhood has claimed the life of a motorcyclist, marking the 13th traffic-related fatality this year in Portland. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 14, just before the evening commute at 4:24 p.m., when East Precinct officers received reports of the crash at the intersection of Northeast 111th Avenue and Northeast Eugene Street, according to the Portland Police Bureau.
The first officers to arrive at the scene found a motorcycle and a vehicle had collided, with the rider of the motorcycle pronounced dead at the location. The driver of the vehicle involved was present when the police arrived and are reportedly cooperating fully to help investigators piece together what transpired. In a move to meticulously investigate the incident, the Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team (MCT) has been dispatched to the scene, resulting in the closure of Northeast 111th Avenue between Northeast Thompson Street and Northeast Tillamook Street.
