A harrowing crash on FM 1960 led to a dramatic chase and the arrest of a thrice-caught drunk driver, law enforcement officials report. Harris County Constable's Office says that deputies were called to the 9400 block of FM 1960 Bypass Road West on February 1, where they found one vehicle in need of assistance. But as they tended to the scene, the driver responsible for the crash attempted an escape.
The fleeing suspect, identified by authorities as Mario Sanchez, didn't get far before deputies caught up with him. According to a Facebook post by Constable Mark Herman’s Office, Sanchez exhibited clear signs of intoxication. Field Sobriety Tests were carried out, confirming the suspicions of the lawmen.
It turned out that this was not an isolated mistake for Sanchez but the third in a series of dangerous decisions. "Mario Sanchez was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail for Driving While Intoxicated 3rd," Constable Mark Herman stated. The driver's history revealed two prior convictions for DWI, putting him in deeper legal jeopardy.
