
Two residents of a North Side home are counting their blessings after escaping unharmed from a late-night blaze on Thursday. The San Antonio Fire Department rushed to the scene at the 500 block of Mandalay Drive around 11:48 p.m., where a corner of a home was engulfed in flames, quickly the firefighters subdued the flames and ensured that everyone was accounted for, with no injuries reported, as per KENS5.
The fire, reported to have started in or near the garage, resulted in an estimated $10,000 worth of damage; both the SAFD and San Antonio Police Department responded swiftly to the call, as noted by KSAT. Authorities have yet to pinpoint the exact cause of the fire, but an investigation team is on it trying to uncover how the fire started and prevent such incidents before they occur again.
