Richardson's West Prairie Creek Drive is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as the much-anticipated rehabilitation project inches toward completion. This stretch, spanning from West Campbell Road to North Collins Boulevard, is part of the city's 2015 Bond Program approved by voters, focusing on improvements across the board including paving, drainage, and pedestrian safety enhancements, according to the City of Richardson, Texas.
The endgame is scheduled somewhere between late February and early March, with the final touches being added to renew the drive. Traffic is now rolling in both directions between Campbell Road and Fall Creek Drive, following a fresh asphalt installation. "Striping for that section started today (Feb. 16)," the City of Richardson reported on its website, signaling progress that should pave the way for the remaining sections soon, as per the City of Richardson, Texas.
They're done with all necessary sewer repairs – all squared away. "The contractor is currently finishing drainage pipe installation, irrigation repairs, and concrete base repair. Final concrete base repair is ongoing," cites the City of Richardson, Texas, checking items off the to-do list with efficiency.
Now, for those driving their kids to Prairie Creek Elementary School, it's hands-off the grass, please. Rising incidents of cars parking in the construction zones and destroying the greenery forced the City to put up more "No Parking" signs back in June. While the school's pedestrian bridge is still good to go, connecting West Prairie Creek Drive to East Prairie Creek Drive, parents are urged to respect the no-go zones for the sake of safety and civility.
