In a string of incidents keeping American Canyon Police on their toes, a heated scuffle among neighbors escalated when 34-year-old Richmond man brandished a gun, landing him in cuffs. As reported by the American Canyon Police Department, Jerome Mason was arguing with a neighbor at the Lodge when the situation intensified, leading him to reveal a firearm and toss threatening words into the fray, both actions deemed very much against the rules.
While being detained, officers found a holster on Mason, and a Glock-style handgun was later discovered in his apartment. He was booked into Napa County Department of Corrections facing weapons charges, and for making criminal threats, the department detailed in a Facebook post.
Saturday's patrols wielded more than just the typical traffic infractions. An ACPD Officer spotted a green laser slicing through the dark from a passing vehicle, which spurred a traffic stop that turned up an unloaded Glock, complete with a green laser attachment and a hefty haul of psilocybin mushrooms. The driver, 21-year-old Vallejo resident Yahir Segura-Menjvar, and passenger, 22-year-old Uriel Herrera Zavala, didn't just lose their stash; they earned a trip downtown.
By Sunday, the action hadn't let up. Vallejo Police swamped with an assault at one of those notorious sideshows, roped in the ACPD to help with corralling the scene and keeping the growing crowd in check, as per their statement. The weekend was a marathon for the ACPD, as nearly 100 calls for service were logged, not counting their proactive policing initiatives throughout the community, the department reported with a note of gratitude to public support.
