The City of Saint Paul is on the hunt for a new steward for its cherished community haven, Frogtown Park and Farm. This green oasis has been a fixture in the local community since its inception in 2016, providing both sustenance and a gathering place for residents. Now, leaders are sifting through proposals to find a partner that can take the helm and keep the park thriving.
A successful management partner will need to bring a vision that doesn't just resonate with the Frogtown neighborhood but echoes throughout the entire city of Saint Paul. They’ll have to prove they can run a welcoming and accessible operation that also stands up as a sustainable business. According to an announcement on the official City of Saint Paul website, an ideal candidate would also have to show a penchant for "diversifying and expanding programming" and "a plan for operational transparency and community accountability, with robust communication."
The new management partner for Frogtown Park and Farm will be in charge of community engagement, staffing, scheduling the daily grind, and ensuring that gates are locked tight at night. They'll also be the face of the farm, ushering in groups and classes, and essentially being the welcoming committee personified. Individuals, teams, and hybrid outfits are all encouraged to throw their hats in the ring.
The City signs agreements for a finite period with management partners. This guarantees that service providers will keep serving the community to the fullest extent possible and adapt to its evolving requirements. The City usually issues a Request for Proposal (RFP) when a contract ends, inviting and encouraging both current and potential new management partners to apply.
Anyone keen on stepping into this role has to apply online. They've included all the details and supplemental materials in the “Attachments” section of the supplier portal on the City's site.
