An unfortunate turn of events unfolded on the Eastside of San Antonio as a 58-year-old man, enjoying the simple pleasure of a sit-down in his front yard, was indiscriminately struck by a stray bullet on Wednesday evening, according to Fox San Antonio.
The San Antonio Police Department reported that the incident occurred near the 800 block of Yucca Street around 7:15 p.m, when the elderly man found himself in the path of a bullet not meant for him, a bullet that ricocheted off a vehicle and tagged him in the back, but fortunately enough the wound was superficial, and he is expected to recover without suffering from any grievous injuries.
This random act of violence underscores the unpredictable nature of stray bullets, which can transform any quiet residential area into a scene of chaos, as was the case on that otherwise unremarkable Wednesday evening. Investigators are currently on the hunt for the suspect responsible for firing the shot, as the community grapples with the reality that their sense of safety has been shaken.
